Exchange Club of Fontana Welcomes New Member and Plans for Upcoming Events

Fontana, CA – September 18, 2024** – The Exchange Club of Fontana convened for an engaging meeting at Sundowners, where the highlight was the welcoming of new member Andrew Mejia. The club expressed enthusiasm for his addition and extended an open invitation to others in the community to join their mission of service and support.

The meeting included a detailed discussion of several upcoming events that the club is involved in. Members prepared for the Mental Illness Event hosted by the Kiwanis, scheduled for September 28 at the Steelworkers Auditorium. This event aims to raise awareness and provide resources regarding mental health issues, underscoring the club’s commitment to community well-being.

Additionally, plans were outlined for the Digital Danger event, hosted by the Fontana Police Department on November 9. This initiative focuses on educating the community about online safety and the potential risks associated with digital technology. Coincidentally, the Mayor’s Gala is also set for November 9, creating a busy day for the club and its members.

The discussion also included updates on the upcoming Christmas Parade, which will take place on December 14 and feature an Ugly Sweater theme. This festive event promises to bring joy and engagement to the community, encouraging participation from local residents and families.

Another significant agenda item was the vote on a theme for the Fontana Days Parade and Festival. Members decided on “Dancing in the Streets,” a theme that aims to celebrate the spirit of community and togetherness.

To enhance participation and accessibility, the club is considering moving its meeting days to Saturday mornings. This change aims to encourage more members to attend and engage with the club’s activities.

The next meeting is scheduled for September 28 at 10 AM at Options for Youth, located off Foothill in Fontana. The Exchange Club of Fontana welcomes all community members to join in, get involved, and help make a positive impact in the area.
