R. Dale Evans, Sr. Honored at the California Inland Empire Council’s Distinguished Citizens Dinner
The California Inland Empire Council, Old Baldy District was proud to recognize Mr. R. Dale Evans, Sr. at this year’s Distinguished Citizens Dinner. The special event, held on Monday, November 18, 2024, at the Jessie Turner Center in Fontana, CA, was an evening filled with fun, celebration, and heartfelt recognition of Mr. Evans’ exceptional contributions to Scouting and the local community.
For over 110 years, Scouting has proudly adhered to its motto, “Be Prepared,” helping to shape young people into responsible, caring citizens. The Old Baldy District, which serves the cities of Ontario, Montclair, Rancho Cucamonga, Upland, Fontana, and Rialto, supports 34 Scouting units, providing guidance and resources to over 1,000 boys and girls in the program. These young individuals are gaining valuable life skills, learning leadership, career development, and even life-saving techniques, while becoming exemplary role models within their communities.
The event was a fitting tribute to Mr. Evans, who has been a steadfast supporter of Scouting for many years. His dedication to helping local youth grow into outstanding citizens has had a lasting impact on the lives of many in the Inland Empire. The Old Baldy District and all of the Scouts thank R. Dale Evans, Sr. for his unwavering commitment to the program and to the young people it serves.
This year’s Distinguished Citizens Dinner was a memorable occasion, and the Council looks forward to continuing to honor individuals who make a difference in the lives of youth and contribute to the strength of the local community.
